About The Kind Wine

The Kind Wine is the product of my evolving love affair with wine. The idea is quite simple: I buy a bottle of wine every week and drink it, and then I tell everyone about the wine and what I think of it. All of the wine is from the United States because that’s what I’m interested in right now. All of the wine is pretty cheap (under $15/bottle) because I have a budget. I’m not a wine expert by any strech of the imagination, just a guy who really likes drinking wine. I’ll also try to take nice photographs of the wine and maybe add some other relevant posts as well. If I keep drinking, eventually I should have a pretty good database of information here. It’s a task I think I’m up to!

I started drinking wine seriously in 2007. At first I just wanted to aquaint myself with a pleasure I knew very little about, but it wasn’t long before I fell in love with the stuff, and now I can’t imagine sitting down to a meal without a glass. As I began my wine tasting adventure I also blogged about what I tried on my personal website, but it was soon evident to me that my wine tasting posts needed a website of their own, and The Kind Wine was born.

The Kind Wine is still very much evolving and I’m not entirely sure where I’m going with it. Whatever tickles my fancy at the moment is what I’ll write about. Right now that means that I’d like to learn about and highlight some of the local New York and New England wines and vineyards. There are some terrific wines coming out of the New York and New England regions which, living in Connecticut, I have terrific access to. These great wines and wineries receive so little exposure, so perhaps I can shine a small spotlight on them.
